Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a NOx occlusion reduction type catalyst having large occlusion amount of NOx and capable of exhibiting excellent NOx removal performance.SOLUTION: There is provided the NOx occlusion reduction type catalyst that comprises: a carrier containing compound oxide including at least zinc and aluminum; and an active metal and NOx occlusion material carried on the carrier. The compound oxide is represented by composition formula:ZnMgsq.AlO, where x represents the number of 0.02 to 0.70, y represents the number of 0 to 0.60, sum of x and y satisfies a condition of 0.02 to 0.70 and sq represents a defect site of zinc and aluminum. A value of a ratio of a main peak area of the Znsq.AlO(A) to the total of the main peak area of ZnMgsq.AlO(B) and the main peak area of MgO (C), (A/[A+B+C]) in diffraction peaks measured by an X-ray diffraction pattern using a CuKα ray obtained by an X-ray diffraction measurement of the carrier is 0.6 or more, the active metal is a noble metal and the NOx occlusion material contains at least barium or potassium.SELECTED DRAWING: None
