In a nurse call slave set 2, if an IC tag 1 is not read out by a tag reader 5 when an operation part 4 is operated, an operation content discriminating part 6 judges it as an ordinary call operation, so that a control part 3 for the slave set forms and transmits an ordinary call signal. Meantime, if the IC tag 1 is read by the tag reader 5 when the operation part 4 is operated, the operation content discriminating part 6 judges it as an emergency call operation, so that the control part 3 for the slave set 3 forms and transmits an emergency call signal. Thus, an emergency call can be prevented from being operated by a patient while a medical staff member can intentionally make an emergency call by manipulating the operation part 4.
