To provide oilproof paper having both of high oil resistance and high air permeability by using a non-fluorine-based material through a production method with high productivity.

The oilproof paper has at least one layer of an oilproof agent layer formed at least one face of a paper substrate. The oilproof agent layer contains starch containing a hydrophobic group and wax. The oilproof paper has an Oken type air permeability of 2,000 sec or less which is measured in accordance with JAPAN TAPPI paper pulp test method No.5-2:2000. In addition, the oilproof agent layer of the oilproof paper contains 5-120 pts. mass of the wax with respect to 100 pts. mass of the starch containing the hydrophobic group.
