PURPOSE: To obtain an ethylene/α-olefin copolymer providing a film having high melt flow rate, excellent moldability, improved transparency and mechanical strength by copolymerizing ethylene with an α-olefin in the presence of a specific catalyst.
CONSTITUTION: Ethylene is copolymerized with a 3-20C a-olefin in the presence of an olefin polymerizing catalyst comprising (A) an organoaluminumoxy compound and (B) a transition metal compound of the group IV of the periodic table having at least two cyclopentadienyl skeleton ligands to give the objective copolymer having 0.85-0.98g/cm3 density, 0.01-200g/10 minutes melt flow rate (MFR) at 190°C under 2.16kg load, correlation between melt tension [MT(g)] at 190°C and MFR of MT>2.2×MFR-0.84 and correlation between MFR and fluidity index [FI(1/second)] defined by strain rate when shear stress of molten copolymer at 190°C reaches 2.4×106dyne/cm2, satisfying FI<150×MFR.
