To enhance the resolution of an OCT signal in an optical coherent tomography unit, and to prevent side lobes from increasing.
This optical coherent tomographic unit uses as a light source thereof a switch light source (variable-wavelength light generator) 131, having a light-emitting part 43 for outputting combined outputs from a plurality of variable-wavelength light sources 41 different in wavenumber sweeping ranges, and a controller 44 allowing wavenumber sweeping exceeding the wavenumber sweeping range of the individual variable-wavelength light source 41, by sweeping the variable-wavelength light sources one by one. The switching light source (variable-wavelength light generator) is constituted to have the light-emitting part for outputting integrally the outputs from the plurality of variable-wavelength light sources different in wavenumber sweeping ranges, and the controller for allowing the wavenumber sweeping to compensate each other output wavenumbers of the individual variable-wavelength light sources 41, by sweeping the variable-wavelength light sources one by one.
