Title:
OPTICAL FIBER AMPLIFIER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3669083
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize the low price and low power consumption by improving the noise index characteristics-output beam power, while flattening the gain wavelength characteristics for realizing the effective utilization of excited beam power.
SOLUTION: Within an optical fiber amplifier, pump beams are enter into erbium-doped optical fibers 21, 22 to actuate the amplifier, so that longitudinally- connected two stage optical amplifier may be composed between input an output photoconnectors 11 and 12, while an optical isolator may not be inserted in the input side of the erbium-doped optical fiber 21. Furthermore, the gain in the fiber 21 may be specified so as to not to exceed 20dB and a gain wavelength characteristics correcting filter 61 may be inserted between the erbium-doped optical fibers 21 and 22.
