Title:
OPTICAL FIBER CONNECTING BOX
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH03245109
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE:To miniaturize this box by turning and connecting at least one of optical fibers to be connected so as to bypass the opposite side of an adapter panel. CONSTITUTION:Six pieces of the optical fibers 4 emerging from an optical cable 3 are divided by 3 pieces each to the right and the left and are respectively passed through slits 8 provided on the adapter panel 2 to be bypassed to the opposite side of the adapter panel 2 in the case of the connecting box for connecting, for example, 6-fiber cables 3 with connectors to each other. These fibers are turned back in the range of averting the excessive bending of the optical fibers 4, are passed between the adapter panel 2 and the side face of the box body 1 and are again returned to the cable 3 side where the rising optical connector 5 is inserted to the adapter 2a of the adapter panel 2. Since the surplus length treatment of the optical fibers is executed in the space incorporating the adapter space in such a manner, the connecting box is miniaturized.
