PURPOSE: To provide a liquid crystal display device which increases a visual field angle without generating moire by the periodicity of the display pixels, etc., of an liquid crystal display and an image pickup device which suppresses false signals without generating the moire.
CONSTITUTION: This liquid crystal display device is constituted by arranging many sphere 5 having the continuously changing inside refractive indices on the observation surface side (or between a solid-stage image pickup element and an image pickup lens) of the dot matrix type liquid crystal display 3. In such liquid crystal display device, a transparent film 4 provided with a transparent resin layer contg. the spheres 5 having the continuously changing inside refractive indices may be arranged or the transparent resin layer contg. the spheres 5 having the continuously changing inside refractive indices may be provided on observation side polarizing plate of the dot matrix liquid crystal display 3.
