Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a method capable of easily producing a contact lens which is uniformly and firmly colored in one process.

CONSTITUTION: A colored contact lens is produced by mixing a polymerizable component (A) containing monomers which can form covalent bonds with a reactive dye (B), the reactive dye (B) and an alkali soln. (C) and polymerizing the polymerizable component (A) while effecting the reaction of the polymerizable component (A) and the reactive dye (B).
