Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper sheet handling device capable of surely confirming whether a put bill, even if differed in thickness according to the kind of money, is one or not, handling bills differed in thickness even when mixed, being conformed to new bills recently issued by use of various new characteristic techniques for preventing the forgery of bills, and detecting a foreign matter on the bill surface.
SOLUTION: A bill inspection means 301 specifies the kind of a successively sent bill 1000, and the reference thickness information for the specified kind of the bill is read from a reference thickness table 201-2 having the kinds of bills and the whole surface thickness information of bills recorded therein. The reference thickness information is compared with the measured thickness information measured by a plurality of bill thickness inspection means 108 set so as to obtain information for a plurality of positions of the bill surface, whereby whether the bill is one or not and whether a foreign matter is present or not are confirmed. Denoted at 108-1 is a reference roller, 108-3 is a detection roller, 108-5 is a displacement sensor, 201 is a control part, 201-1 is a one-piece judgment part, and 201-3 is an inspection judgment part.
