Title:
PARTICULATE OXIDIZING AGENT AND OXIDATION CATALYST
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3528839
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a particulate oxidizing agent which enhances the oxidation rate of particulate at a low temperature (approximately 300°C or lower) and does not hinder removal of NOx by reduction at a high temperature (approximately 500°C or higher) by the above oxidation.
SOLUTION: The particulate oxidizing agent comprises a cerium/zirconium composite oxide for burning and removing particulate in an exhaust gas in a lean combustion-type internal combustion engine. The particulate oxidizing agent contains cerium of 0.1-20 mol% based on the number of total moles of metal atoms contained. Preferably the cerium/zirconium composite oxide contains further at least one kind of metal (M) selected from rare earth metals (except cerium), and the molar ratio of M/Ce is 0.1-10.
