PURPOSE: To reduce resistance during an agitation process and uniformly blend a lead powder and an additive in a short time with the high speed rotation of an agitation vane by causing the natural fall of the powder within a silo in a sealed condition and scattering and blending the powder and the additive with a vane rotating at a high speed during the process of the fall.
CONSTITUTION: A lead powder is transferred tn a hopper 3 therefor, using the conveyor 1 of a paste blending and mixing machine for a lead acid battery in a lead acid battery manufacture device, and the powder is made to fall naturally off the hopper 5 from the upper side of a silo 2 to the lower side thereof. An agitation vane 11 rotated with a plurality of a rotary axis 4 is fitted within the silo 2 and the vane 11 is made to rotate at a high speed with a motor 12 installed on the silo 2. The lead powder is collected at the center part of the silo 2 with a projection 5 fitted inside and the powder and an addi tive are uniformly blended before the powder drops to a powder collecting hole 6. Moreover, the predetermined amount of dilute sulfuric acid is sprinkled in atomized form from a dilute sulfuric acid jet hole 9 to the powder passing the powder collecting hole 6 and the powder is fed to a mixing machine 7.
