To provide a peak limiting circuit for preventing the deterioration of a transmission signal by performing peak limitation of the transmission signal in accordance with a filter overshoot.

This peak limiting circuit is provided with a filter overshoot estimating part which estimates the level of a filter overshoot that occurs in a band limiting filter by using the same filter coefficient as that of the band limiting filter for performing band limiting of the transmission signal in radio communication to calculate a band limiting processing result, compares the predicted level with a preset peak set value and calculates and outputs an amplitude limiting value for adjusting the level of the transmission signal to be attenuated when the predicted level is larger than the peak set value, and a peak limiting part which multiplies the transmission signal by the amplitude limiting value and performs peak limitation of the transmission signal.
