PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photoconductivity antenna capable of generating a terahertz wave with higher intensity by achieving a higher carrier mobility than the conventional.SOLUTION: The photoconductivity antenna 100, which is a photoconductivity antenna 100 generating a terahertz wave T with an optical pulse p irradiated, includes a first layer 10 that forms a carrier C with an optical pulse p irradiated; a second layer 20 that is positioned on the first layer 10 and has a higher carrier mobility than that of the first layer 10; and a first electrode 30 and a second electrode 32 that are positioned on the second layer 20 and are applied with a voltage to the second layer 20.
