Title:
PHOTOELECTRIC CONVERTER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2000269523
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To implant a current to a light emitting/receiving element with a simple structure and facilitate a two-dimensional arraying, by a method wherein there are formed the light emitting/receiving element and a coupling part which couples the light emitting/receiving element with an optical fiber, and the light emitting/receiving element is held in a recess part provided in an array manner of a conductive substrate.

A photoelectric converter is structured by a surface emitting semiconductor laser element 10; an Si conductive substrate 12 for holding the surface emitting semiconductor laser element 10; and a transparent microlens 16 as a coupling part for coupling the surface emitting semiconductor laser element 10 with an optical fiber 14. The Si conductive substrate 12 is provided with a tapered recess 18 narrowing in a depthwise direction in an array-like manner, and the surface emitting semiconductor laser element 10 is held by the recess 18, and is secured to the Si conductive substrate 12 with a solder 21. The transparent microlens 16 is provided so as to bury the interior of the recess 18, and spherically cover an opening part of the recess 18, and come into contact with an end face of the optical fiber 14.
