Abstract:

To provide an aqueous ink for inkjet recording which keeps a particle size of a pigment dispersion constant, suppresses generation of streaks and irregularities, and gives a uniform printed image even after long-term storage or exposure to high temperature.

The pigment dispersion of vinyl polymer particles includes following components A and B, wherein A is an azo pigment represented by general formula (1) having a specific structural formula with a nitrogen heterocycle, a tautomer thereof, salts thereof, hydrates thereof, or solvates thereof, and B is a vinyl polymer containing a structural unit having a nonaromatic-alicyclic group bonded to a polymer main chain through a linking group and a structural unit having a hydrophilic group.
