PURPOSE: To obtain a preparation free of lead and chromic acid salts which has a corrosion resistance comparable to that in a preparation containing lead and chromic acid salts, by preparing it from a chelate-forming compound of a specific general formula, a material in a flake form and a hydroxide ion- binding material in a specific ratio.
CONSTITUTION: This pigment preparation for anti-corrosion coating materials comprises 3 to 40 wt.% metal-containing or metal-free, mono- or bifunctional chelate-forming compound of formula I or II (wherein A and B are each independently an aromatic or an aliphatic group which may contain a hetero atom such as S, SE, O or N and may additionally contain an aryl, an alkyl, a halogen, an oxygen-containing group, an sulfur-containing group or a nitrogen-containing group as a substituent; R1-R4 are each H or an alkyl; and Me is Fe, Ni, Co, Mn, Bi, Sn, Zn or H2), 3 to 40 wt.% material of a flake form and 25 to 80 wt.% hydroxide ion-binding material. Here, the above composition may further contain 5 to 65 wt.% conductive pigment.
