Title:
PIPE CUTTING DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3580601
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent deformation of a pipe having a large diameter and small wall thickness due to chucking by eliminating runs (burrs) likely produced when the pipe is to be cut.
SOLUTION: A cruciform taper shaft 4 is moved right so that diameters of collars 5A, 5B, 5C, 5D are enlarged in the radial direction of a core 1. The collars 5A-5D are put in tight attachment to a bore of a pipe W. Rubber pieces 12A, 12B in ring form are compressed between the bore of the pipe W and peripheral grooves of the collars 5A-5D to achieve tight attachment to the pipe W. Receptacle rolls 19, 20 are contacted with the pipe W, and the core 1 is rotated in a single piece with the pipe W. A roll cutter 2 is contacted by pressure with a periphery of the pipe W, and the pipe W is cut. A tip of the roll cutter cuts the pipe W and advances into a rubber piece 11. After cutting, the taper shaft 4 is moved left so that the collars 5A-5D are reduced diametrically and the pipe W is removed.
