Abstract:
To improve an internal combustion engine for an automobile so that the amount of oil consumption decreases.
The periphery of a top land 1d, in the upper part of an uppermost groove 1a of a plurality of ring grooves provided at the periphery of the piston 1 of an engine, 1 is formed in a slope 1g which contracts diametrically downward. The slope 1g lowers the gas flow speed when the piston 1 rises, which allows for the decrease in the amount of oil consumption. Deterioration of exhaust components can also be precluded.
