Title:
PLASMA DEVICE MOVING BETWEEN THE TORCHES
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2002110399
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a plasma device which is used in the melting furnace for smelting of metal or making harmless the incinerated ashes by melting, that is capable of heating and melting effectively regardless of conductivity or non-conductivity of the melted object and that is excellent in startability and operability, and has high efficiency.

The moving plasma device A comprises internal electrodes 1a, 2a having different polarity, a first torch 1 and a second torch 2 having an external electrode 1b, 2b, a main power source circuit 3 which the first and the second torch 1, 2 share, and a pilot power source circuit 4, 5 that is constituted respectively in each torch 1, 2 and forms a pilot arc by discharging between the internal electrode and the external electrode. When a pilot arc 8 is formed respectively in each torch 1, 2 and jetted, and the pilot arcs of both torches are in substance conducted, the main power source 3 is switched on, and a plasma 9 moving between the torches if formed between the internal electrodes 1a, 2a of both torches.
