Abstract:
PURPOSE: To prevent crack generation on a side wall part by forming a protector, which projects from an outer wall face for extending in a tire circumferential direction, and has recessed grooves with prescribed depth and shape on the outer face, in the prescribed position of the side wall part.
CONSTITUTION: A protector 11 extending from the outer wall face 10 of a side wall part 3 in the tire circumferential direction is formed so as to project 3mm or more. The protector 11 is formed between the upper limit point A. which is situated below the tread edge E, by a length equivalent to 0.1-0.2 time of H, that is the height from the bead bottom face 4a to the tread edge E, and the maximum width point B. And recessed grooves 12 which extend in the tire circumferential direction, have V-section with the depth h of 3.0mm or less, and are tapered from the outside to the inside of the radial direction are provided in the outer face 11a of the protector 11. Therefore crack generation on the side wall part due to collision of cracked stones or scraping with curbstones is prevented so as to protect a tire from breakage, improve durability and riding comfortableness, and be applicable to travelling on uneven ground.
