PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a polyurethane elastic yarn having excellent dyeing fastness to chlorine and chlorine durability, useful as a yarn for an elastic cloth for swimming suit, by including a specific metal compound and a prescribed phosphoric ester compound.
SOLUTION: A polymer diol having 500-5,000 number-average molecular weight and containing hydroxyl groups at both terminal groups is reacted with an organic diisocyanate and a polyfunctional active hydrogen-containing chain extender to give a polyurethane polymer. The polymer in an amount of 100 pts.wt. is mixed with 0.1-10 pts.wt. of at least one kind among an oxide, a compound oxide and a hydroxide of a metal selected from Mg, Zn and Al or a hydrotalcite compound and an effective amount of a phosphoric ester compound of the formula (R is a 1-30C straight-chain or branched-chain alkyl, a 5-6C cycloalkyl or the like; (n) is 1 or 2) to give the objective yarn capable of suppressing reduction in activity of a metal compound which is a chlorine deterioration inhibitor even by dye fixing treatment of a cross knitted and woven fabric with a polyamide-based yarn and/or a polyester-based yarn.
