Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyurethane elastomer compact of specific hardness, excellent in mechanical strength while having low hardness, having large elasticity and prescribed plastic resistance, and suppressing surface tack; and to provide a method for producing the polyurethane elastomer which enables economical and stable mass production of compacts of uniform shape.SOLUTION: Provided is a polyurethane elastomer compact comprising a polyol component and an isocyanate component and having rubber hardness of 5 or less, or more than 5 and 98 or less, as measured in accordance with JIS K6253. It is possible to prepare a core part of a soft compact comprising this polyurethane elastomer with rubber hardness of 5 or less and to form a transparent surface layer comprising the polyurethane elastomer on the core part. The compact is produced by casting a mixture of the polyol component and the polyisocyanate component into a mold made of a synthetic resin such as a silicone resin, heating at 70°C or more, and cooling. Forming of the surface layer is performed by casting or coating using the same raw material as the raw material for molding the core part.
