Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a biometric portable key device which resolves a problem with requesting input of biometric information every time the portable key device is used and reduces a risk that successful biometric context stored in the portable key device is used by another person.SOLUTION: In a state where two portable key devices mounted with a wireless communication function communicate with each other and biometric authentication is successfully performed, the portable key device stores successful biometric context and transmits a lock release signal to allow a control object device to be operational by unlocking the same. When wireless communication between the two portable key devices is cut, the portable device destroys the successful biometric context and stops transmission of the lock release signal. When resuming the transmission of the lock release signal, the portable key device requests the biometric authentication to be performed again. Thus, the portable key device reduces the number of times that a user performs the biometric authentication. The successful biometric context is also destroyed when the key device is misplaced.
