Abstract:
PURPOSE:To splash fine particles or gas adsorbed to powder so as to prevent a decrease in critical current density by heating the powder of an oxide superconductor under reduced pressure at least once in any step before the final sintering process. CONSTITUTION:There is provided at least once thermal treatment in a pressure reduced atmosphere at 850 deg.C or less in thermal treatments included in steps of preparing powder of an oxide superconductor and/or in a part of steps of thermal treatments for a wire rod obtained by plastic working. For example, the powder is heated at least once under reduced pressure, before the powder is coated with a sheath. After the plastic working of the sheath, the powder is heated again under reduced pressure so that adsorbed particle or gas can be removed. Therefore, it is possible to eliminate any factor for reducing a critical current density of the superconductive wire rod.
