Abstract:
To eject thickened ink surely by flushing.
The ink jet printer performing printing by ejecting ink from the nozzle openings of a recording head 6 comprises a means (a CPU 52, a flush memory 55) for estimating the viscosity of ink, and a control means (the CPU 52, a head drive circuit 58) performing flushing operation for ejecting thickened ink from the nozzle openings of the recording head 6 with a driving force corresponding to a viscosity estimated by the viscosity estimating means (the CPU 52, the flush memory 55). Thickened ink can be ejected surely with an optimal driving force corresponding to the viscosity of ink.
