To provide a printer in which a versatility of a driver is enhanced.

The printer 1 is provided with: an I/F section 31 for receiving data from a PC 2; a parameter-deriving section 35a for deriving a control constant on the basis of print setting information included in the received data; and a printer section 11 which performs printing operation on the basis of the print setting information, the control constant, and print data included in the received data.
