PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the possibility that a foreign material adhering to a printing surface of a medium contaminates a recording head, ink ejection performance of the recording head varies, and printing quality of an image is reduced.SOLUTION: A printer comprises: a printing section performing printing on a printing surface of a medium; a transportation section 30 transporting the medium M in a transportation direction F, and feeding out the medium M; a medium support section 22 being disposed at an upstream side in the transportation direction F with respect to a recording head 41 and supporting a surface M2 of an opposite side to the printing surface M1 of the medium M; and a removal section 60 having flexibility and having a first contact portion 61 brought into contact with the printing surface M1 when the medium M is supported by the medium support section 22. The removal section 60 is spaced apart from the medium support section 22 at both of a portion closer to the upstream side in the transportation direction F than the first contact portion 61 and a portion closer to a downstream side in the transportation direction F than the first contact portion 61. An interval between the removal section 60 and the medium support section 22 is increased toward a reverse direction to the transportation direction F at the upstream side in the transportation direction F of the first contact portion 61, and is increased toward the transportation direction F at the downstream side in the transportation direction F of the first contact portion 61.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
