Abstract:
NEW MATERIAL:The compound of formula I (n is 5-10) and its salt.
EXAMPLE: 1,1,1,15,15,15-Hexafluoro-2,4,12,14-pentadecanetetraone.
USE: A ligand for producing a cobalt complex (formula II) useful as a catalyst for the production of a hydroxyl-containing compound from olefins. A hydroxyl- containing compound having functional group can be produced from an α-olefin having functional group by the use of said cobalt complex.
PREPARATION: The objective compound of formula I can be produced by using a diketone compound having C number smaller than that of the objective β- diketone compound by 4 and acetylating both molecular terminals of the diketone compound with an alkyl trifluoroacetate.
