Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inexpensively produce a drawn tube excellent in the corrosion resistance of the inside face.
SOLUTION: This method for producing a tube is the one in which the inside face of a cylindrical aluminum alloy billet is thermally sprayed with Zn or a Zn alloy, then this billet is subjected to hot extrusion, and next this extruded tube is subjected to drawing. The cylindrical aluminum alloy billet thermally sprayed with the Zn or Zn alloy is subjected to heat treatment at 350 to 500°C for 1 to 48hr. Since a diffused layer is formmed between ther thermally sprayed layer and the core material, the thermally sprayed layer is hard to peel at the time of the drawing, and the tube excellent in the corrosion resistance of the inside face can be obtd. Furthermore, the tube can inexpensively be produced without requiring rolling equipment and cylindrical lining materials.
