Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain the subject resin, excellent in physical properties of cured products and molding operating efficiency and suitable for uses of civil engineering and construction, flooring material coatings, adhesives, casting, etc., by adding phenols to a specific epoxy resin and opening the ring in a part of epoxy group or mixing a specific organic compound containing silicon therewith.
CONSTITUTION: This resin is obtained by reacting (A) a resin of formula I [R1 and R2 are each H, methyl or phenyl; R3 is H, a halogen or methyl; (m) is 0-4; (n) is the average polymerization degree and 0-1] with (B) a compound of formula II (R4 is a 1-30C alkyl, an aralkyl, an aryl or a halogen; (h) is 0-3] and opening the ring of 0.2-10 equiv.% epoxy groups in the component (A) or mixing 100 pts.wt. component (A) with 0.01-5 pts.wt. compound of formula III [R5 is a 1-5C alkyl; X is a hydrolyzable group; Y is glycidyl, amino, an N-(ω-aminoalkyl)amino, etc.; (m) is 1-3; (n) is 0-5].
