Abstract:
To provide a prophylactic or therapeutic agent for diseases accompanied by apoptosis, such as cardiac infarction, cerebral infarction, hepatitis, or ischemic reperfusion injury in heart, lung, liver, small intestine, pancreas and kidney.
In Bcl-xL that is an anti-apoptotic substance, both of asparagines at positions 52 and 66 are each substituted with alanine and the modified Bcl-xL is administered or expressed in the cells to carry out the prophylaxis and therapy for the diseases accompanied by apoptosis, such as cardiac infarction, cerebral infarction, hepatitis, or ischemic reperfusion injury in heart, lung, liver, small intestine, pancreas and kidney.
