4-Methyl-2,3,5,6-tetrafluorobenzyl (1R)-trans-3-(2-methyl-1- propenyl)-2,2-dimethylcyclopropanecarboxylate is shown by formula I. The compound of formula I is obtained by reacting an alcohol compound of formula II with (1R)-trans-3-(2-methyl-1-propenyl)-2,2-dimethylcyclopropanecarboxylic acid of formula III or its reactive derivative (e.g. an acid halide, an acid anhydride or the like) in the presence of a condensation agent (e.g. dicyclohexylcarbodiimide or the like) or a base (e.g. triethylamine, pyridine or the like) in a solvent (e.g. benzene, toluene or the like) for 5 minutes to 72 hours preferably at -5°C to the boiling point of the solvent or 100°C.
