Title:
QUARTZ TEMPERATURE SENSOR
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH04236336
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain a sensor having a large changing rate of resonant frequencies to temperatures and superior linearity of the frequency-temperature characteristic by providing a quartz oscillator with a quartz piece having a first and a second surfaces, a first and a second electrodes fixed to the surface of the quartz piece, and an organic thin film coated over one of the first and second surfaces. CONSTITUTION:A disk-like quartz piece 1 has the resonant, frequency of about 21.5MHz, AT cut, thickness of 0.077mm and diameter of 7mm. An Au electrode 2a having the diameter of 3.2mm is deposited on the upper surface of the quartz piece 1, and an Au electrode 2b is provided at the lower surface of the quartz piece 1. The diameter of the electrode 2b is 3.2mm. A terminal 3a is formed at the right end of the electrode 2a, while a terminal 3b is connected to the electrode 2b. An organic thin film 5 is coated over the one surface of the quartz piece 1. This quartz piece 1 is mounted as a quartz oscillator for a quartz temperature sensor. The organic thin film 5 is formed circular of p-nitroacetanilide, having the thickness of 0.5mum and diameter of 5.6mm. Accordingly, the quartz temperature sensor has a large changing rate of the frequency to temperatures and superior linearity of the frequency- temperature characteristic.
