Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide quinone derivatives which target a redox site of Ape1 (apurinic/apyrimidinic endonuclease)/Ref1 (redox-enhancing factor-1) for inhibiting angiogenesis.SOLUTION: The present invention includes 3-[(5-(2,3-dimethoxy-6-methyl-1,4-benzoquinoyl)]-2-nonyl-2-proprionic acid represented by the formula in the figure, or pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof. The invention further includes pharmaceutical formulations containing the derivative, and therapeutic applications of the derivative.
