Abstract:
To obtain a radiation detector with which it is possible to measure the dosage rate of each of neutron and gamma ray separately with good accuracy by one radiation detector.SOLUTION: Provided is a radiation detector for detecting the dosage rate of each of neutron and gamma ray separately, comprising: a scintillator for generating scintillation light of different pulse waveform on the basis of the incident neutron or gamma ray; a particle discrimination circuit for discriminating between the neutron and the gamma ray from the pulse waveform; a dosage computation device for calculating the dosage rate of each of the discriminated neutron and gamma ray; and a moderator in the periphery of the scintillator, the dimension of which is adjusted so that the energy characteristic of scintillator sensitivity to the neutron is made to match the energy dependency of dosage rate per neutron flux.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
