Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To read an image of a person identification document with an embedded IC chip and improve the read performance of information in the IC chip.SOLUTION: A reading apparatus comprises: a body 10 which comprises an original platen 12 comprising a transparent plate for placing a reading target 3 thereon and a scanner 13 for generating an image by reading the reading target 3; a cover 11 which covers the transparent plate in a freely openable and closable way; and an IC reading part 15 which is provided inside the cover 11 and reads information from the IC chip included in the reading target 3 placed on the top face of the cover 11.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
