Abstract:

To improve freshness-keeping performance for food and by keeping a stored item storage temperature optimum in any storage state in a refrigerator, and to suppress power consumption by prevention against excess refrigeration of stored items.

A refrigerator includes ceiling-side LEDs 20a, 20b installed in a storage compartment 12, a main light sensor 21a as an light sensor detecting illumination light, and a blue LED 22a as an auxiliary light emission part emitting color light different from the ceiling-side LEDs 20a, 20b, etc. The main light sensor 21a detects reflected light of the light from the blue LED 22a from stored items to securely detect a stored item with high reflectivity affecting illuminance at a periphery of the main light sensor 21a, thereby securely improving estimation precision for a storage amount by the main light sensor 21a.
