To provide a repair method for easily and positively performing repair when a part of gas piping formed of a polyethylene pipe is damaged by other construction work to make a hole.

An adhesive tape 14 made of polyethylene with a tensile strength of 200 kgf/cm2 is wound around a hole part of the polyethylene pipe 13 to carry out temporary repair. A pair of electric fusion members 11 each having semicircular cross section with flanges 11 projected sideways on both sides and with an electric heating wire 12 embedded in the inner peripheral surface and one flange 11a out of both flanges, are placed face to face to hold the pipe 13 at the part wound with the adhesive tape 14, and after the flanges are clamped and connected to each other, a current is applied to the electric fusion members 11 to electrically fuse the electric fusion members 11 to the polyethylene pipe 13 through the adhesive tape 14.
