To provide a reversible thermosensitive recording medium or the like, which has favorable coloring density and, at the same time, excellent high speed erasability and, in addition, shows favorable high speed erasability over a wide environmental scope ranging from normal temperature and normal humidity to low temperature and low humidity and by which highly practical re-writing recording can be realized.
This reversible thermosensitive recording medium comprises a support and at least a thermosensitive layer, the color tone of which reversibly changes depending upon temperature, provided on the support under the condition that the thermosensitive layer includes a polyalkylene glycol compound having a number average molecular weight of at least 2,000 (except a polypropylene glycol compound having a number average molecular weight of not more than 5,000). The preferable mode of the polyalkylene glycol compound is a polyethylene glycol compound and the preferable mode of the thermosensitive layer is a mode, which includes an electron donative coloring compound and an electron acceptive compound. Further, a reversible thermosensitive recording label, a reversible thermosensitive recording member, an image processing device and an image processing method employing the reversible thermosensitive recording medium are dealt.
