Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a roll over control method and its device for predicting and determining the possibility of the occurrence of roll over being in a transient state accurately, preventing the roll over by utilizing the result, and operating a safety device when the roll over occurs to protect an occupant.
SOLUTION: A step for detecting the change of a vehicle running state and a detected element are processed by a vehicle dynamical equation, and values for calculating a longitudinal speed, horizontal speed, yaw rate, roll rate, roll angle, slip angle, and slip ratio are processed by a Kalman filter to predict a slip angle which is formed in the transient state.
