Abstract:
PURPOSE:To settle the problems of accuracy, durability, noise, etc., by transmitting the turning force of a driving motor to a rotary body via friction rollers. CONSTITUTION:Four friction rollers 3a, 3b, etc., are provided in the symmetrical positions to the rotary shaft of a rotary body 1, on an inside fixed frame body 5. Roller holding members 10a... for rotatably supporting the rotary shafts 12a... of the friction rollers 3a... are slidable in the radial direction within the cavities of the fixed frame body 5, and the rollers 3a... are always pressed against the inner peripheral face of the rotary body 1 by means of springs 4a.... The rotary body 1 is rotatably supported by an outside fixed frame body 6 by means of bearings 7. The rotary shaft 12a of each friction roller 3a is connected to a motor 2 via a joint 11 and, hence, the rotation of the motor 2 is transmitted to the rotary body 1 via the rollers 3a. A rotary encoder 8 is directly installed on the rotary body 1 enabling the highly accurate positioning of the rotary body 1 without being affected by the abrasion or deformation of a transmitting system. Also, no use of gears lowers noise.
