PURPOSE: To obtain a superconducting rotor of high reliability, by restraining the movement of a superconducting field coil which is caused by electromagnetic force and preventing the generation of normal conduction transition due to temperature rise caused by friction.
CONSTITUTION: The title rotor of superconducting rotary machine is constituted of the following; a coil fixing shaft 2 with slots 11, superconducting field coils 1 accommodated in the slots 11, a holding ring 32 to hold the superconducting field coil 1 engaged with the coil fixing shaft 2, and a ring type vessel 5 to hold refrigerant in the coil fixing shaft 2 arranged on the outer circumference of the holding ring 32. The coil fixing shaft 2 and the holding ring 32 are constituted of different materials. The thermal expansion coefficient of the material of the holding ring 32 is larger than that of the material of the coil fixing shaft 2.
