To provide such a rubber composition for use in tires as is capable of improving well-balancedly the low fuel consumption, wet-gripping performance, and wear resistance; and to provide a pneumatic tire by using this rubber composition for use in tires as a variety of parts of a tire (particularly, as treads).

The rubber composition for use in tires contains: a rubber component containing the diene polymer modified with an amino group-containing silane coupling agent; a silica; a silane coupling agent which consists of a linkage unit A represented by a mercapto group-containing silane coupling agent and/or a sulfenate-containing siloxane compound and of a linkage unit B represented by a mercapto group-containing siloxane compound; and a vulcanization accelerator represented by dithiocarbamic acid.
