To provide a screen operation position specifying method in a navigation system that can quickly and certainly select a desired place synchronized with a touch panel contact position from the pointer input mode side to the touch panel input mode side, and can improve the stability and convenience of operation.

The navigation system having at least a first display 3 and a second display 4, arranges a touch panel 15 having many transmission contact points on the display screen of the first display 3, to specify a screen operation position based on contact positional information by operation of the touch panel 15, and displays a pointer 26 on the second display 4 movably by operation of a multi-directional key 21, to specify the screen operation position based on the specified position information of the pointer 26. The pointer 26 displayed on the second display 4 is step-moved by the multi-directional key 21 correspondingly to a contact position gap of the touch panel 15.
