To provide a self-cleaning material which can sufficiently exhibit a self-cleaning effect without an increase in cost, and is excellent in safety, hygienic properties, and environment protection, and to provide its manufacturing method.
A self-cleaning material 12 including one or more of oxidation catalysts of calcium oxide, iron oxide, manganese oxide and copper oxide is melted into enameling glaze with one or more of enameling powder of aluminum, iron, nickel, copper, chromium, silver, bronze, titanium and silica added to a frit and triturated. This triturated self-cleaning powder material is mixed into water and applied on a stainless steel plate 11 for baking. Thus a self-cleaning layer 13 which oxidizes and decomposes a sticking contaminant at a high temperature is formed.
