Abstract:

PURPOSE:To enable the realization of an electrically programmable IC with 1- chip by a method wherein each point of intersection of the group of signal input wirings with the group of signal output wirings is provided with a switching element, and the ON-OFF state of each switching element is controlled. CONSTITUTION:An IC chip is composed of a functional block region, a switch matrix region, an X-Y decoder, a power source line region, etc. In the switch matrix region, switches capable of having ON-state or OFF-state are arranged at the points of intersections of the group of inpu lines 34 and the group of output lines 35, so that the input lines and the output lines intersecting with each other are electrically connected when these swtiches are ON, and that they are electrically insulated when the switches are OFF. The input-output of signals of two circuit blocks is carried out only via this wiring matrix. Selection of the switch of signals to be turned ON in such a manner enables the electric connection of an arbitrary output line to an arbitrary input line, resulting in the control of the ON-OFF state; thereby a desired IC is constructed.
