Abstract:

To smoothly disengage a gear in a shift system for a vehicle.

This shift control system 15 is applicable to a semi-automatic transmission 2 of a large vehicle. A torque regulating system comprises a logical circuit 16 controlling the change rate of both positive and negative torque in an applicable torque range of clutch disengagement using a ramp function of torque, i.e., algorithm, and/or long dwell time. Further, dwell time at the peak of the ramp is unnecessary. A method for improving gear disengagement and shift control following the principle of this invention is disclosed.
