Title:
SHORT-SIDE CRYSTAL RESONATOR
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH03291011
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To confine the resonance energy within a resonant part and a bent part, to reduce the equivalent series resistance of the vibrator and to improve the shock resistance by integrating the resonant part, a bridge, the bent part, a frame and a support with etching and adopting a new shape.

CONSTITUTION: A resonator 1 consists of a resonant part 2, a bent part 3, a bridge 4, a frame 5 and a support 6. Many resonators are formed simultaneously by etching one thin plate crystal plate and exciting electrodes 9, 10 are arranged to upper and lower faces of the part 2. In such a case, the electrodes 9, 10 are formed on the upper and lower faces of the part 2 opposed to each other as different poles and they are prolonged up to a mount 7 of the support 6. Thus, a short-side resonance is caused by applying an alternate voltage between the electrodes 9, 10 and the resonance is displaced in also long side direction. Moreover, since the frame 5 is connected to the support 6 with a hole 8 made thereto, no leakage resonance is caused.
