This amplifier consists of a case 1 having first and second opposed front sides 2, 3, a photocathode 4, disposed in the range of the first light-permeable front side 2 in the case 1 to generate electrons based on photons emitted by impacting emission from a memory luminous material plate 12, an electron detector 6 disposed in the range of the second front side 3 in the case 1 to generate an electrical signal based on impacting electrons, an electrode system for generating electric field between the photocathode 4 and the electron detector 6 to accelerate the electrons emitted from the photocathode 4 toward the electron detector 6 and an electron multiplier 11 disposed between the photocathode 4 and the electron detector 6, and the electrons emitted from the photocathode 4 is multiplied via the electron multiplier.
